wedge I was watching "The Hero" (great movie) the other night and saw Ziyi Zhang was in it. I thought she was pretty good in it and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (another great movie) also. So I was Googling for more information and came across a good picture of her.

* I thought I could do something cool in iMaginator with the shot, so I copied the image into a new document
* Here I applied Color Controls and Grayscale to get a high contrast grayscale image

* Next, I applied Mask to Alpha to remove the dark areas and give me varying degrees of transparency.

* I set my Image Drag Well to PNG and dragged the PNG to Create. If you have a white document you can't see anything but you have the selection.
* I then brought up my Info and went to Effect and clicked the Fill button to give me this K.A. red monotone image

* I then clicked the Blend radio button and selected one of the standard blends to get this rockin' image.

* Finally, I wondered how the iamge would look in bathroom tile...so I clicked the Pattern radio button then selected bathroom tile for my pattern. Pretty cool!

* You can also try some other combinations.
* Here, I after I did the Mask to Alpha in iMaginator I Colorize-d what was left (there's this really cool scene in The Hero that takes place among Gold colored trees...)

* Next, I did a Color Invert

* Then I dragged the PNG to Create and applied a blend fill.

* Here's another with the Gold Coloize.

* Most of these could be accomplished in just iMaginator by used a painted layer or a blend beneath the PNG, but the way Create adds a fill (especially a pattern) to PNG files is pretty cool.
* Here's one last one. This one is created with a seperate fill behind the PNG.

* I put this together this demo with Omin Outliner Pro - another great Cocoa app. With the non-destructive nature of iMaginator, and the ability to just drag PNG files from iMaginator and Create straight to my Omni document, the creation was very easy.
* Hope you enjoyed it - Ron
